Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Lifting Supervisor certification (e.g, CPCS in the UK).
- Experience: Proven experience in lifting operations, often requiring a background as a crane operator or rigger.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of lifting equipment, safety legislation, and technical drawings.
- Leadership: Strong communication skills to manage teams and liaise with site management.
Duties Include (But not limited to)
- Supervise Lifting Operations: Be present to oversee all lifting activities, ensuring they adhere to the established method statement and lifting plan.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., LOLER in the UK).
- Site Inspection: Check that the ground conditions are safe for mobile cranes and that equipment is in safe working condition.
- Coordination & Communication: Act as the central contact for crane operators, riggers, and signalers to ensure clear communication.
- Risk Management: Conduct pre-lift meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to identify hazards.
- Task Management: Direct rigging and lifting activities, ensuring only trained personnel are involved.
