Fortel Setting the Standard for Travel Hygiene

News

We have put together an instructional video guide to help ensure the safety of key workers travelling to sites across the UK during the Coronavirus lockdown.

The video will highlight how our people can adhere to social distancing and hygiene controls when travelling to and from work.

Tips include how to properly disinfect handles and surfaces, how to safely load and unload vehicles as well as entering and exiting vehicles.

Nick Jones, Head of Labour Supply at Fortel, said: “If teams are not able to travel independently, we must ensure that they can get to work safely.

“We produced a video because, although the principles are simple, it’s a lot more effective to show our workforce through that media.

“As a company, we put our people first and focus on utilising technology to help us do just that.”

When you are travelling to and from site, please consider the following:

  1. Drivers need to clean down vehicles prior to collecting passengers
  2. Keep windows open during travel
  3. On arrival, drivers get out first
  4. Passengers leave vehicle one by one
  5. Drivers need to clean down vehicles after returning to base

Fortel is one of the largest suppliers of labour to the UK construction industry, with a key focus on infrastructure projects, and is currently going through a period of growth, with a new HQ being built at Junction 10 of the M6.

Fortel provides more than 2,000 workers at more than 130 locations across the country, carrying out crucial work to drive forward construction in the UK.
